Counting words in a document is essential when working with strict word limits, such as for assignments, articles, or professional documents. MS Word provides an easy tool for counting words, characters, and pages.

To count words:

  1. Go to the “Review” Tab:
    • Click on the “Review” tab in the Ribbon.
  2. Click “Word Count”:
    • In the “Proofing” group, click “Word Count.” A dialog box will appear displaying statistics for the document.
  3. View Word Count:
